Weatherby Mark XXII

The Weatherby Mark XXII is an extremely accurate and good looking target or varmint hunting rifle. The walnut stock used with the Weatherby Mark XXII is extremely well fitted to the stock, and the finish on that walnut stock is very fine. On of the great things about the Weatherby company is that they fire each one of their Mark XXII rifles before approving to sell. Each Weatherby Mark XXII is test fired and the results (the target) is included with the rifle when you purchase it new. So I know for sure that the rifle I got is going to be a great shooting firearm.
The Mark XXII comes in 2 calibers, .17 HMR and .22 LR (Long Rifle). The .22 LR has been around for ages and is a mass produced rimfire cartridge that has a muzzle velocity of about 1200 FPS (feet per second), .22 LR is the cheaper than any other kind of ammo. The .17 HMR is a more modern rifle round, it is Rimfire and has a much faster muzzle velocity, which is approximately 2600 FPS! The .17 HMR also has a much longer accurate range.
Both calibers have their advantages, but whatever caliber you choose you can be sure that you will be getting a fine rifle! You can buy a Weatherby Mark XXII on Gunbroker.com

Adam, I understood HMR to stand for Hornaday Magnum Rimfire. Am I wrong?
