Leupold VX-III 6.5-20x40mm
Great scope, less money than the others I posted on, and has a smaller size objective than the others. All three of them have 30mm tube diameter, allowing for maximum light entry.

Leupold VX-III 6.5-20x50mm
Also great on an AR-15 platform, the big 50mm objective is easily compensated for, by A flat top AR. The parallax side adjust (on all three) is is a must for the varmint hunter, it is so easy to use and puts the old objective focus to shame.

Leupold VX-III 8.5-25x50mm
This is the big daddy varmint scope. More than you need to take that 400 yard shot at a ground squirrel, but being able to see that red mist at the same time, is at least half the fun. This scope provides the clarity and focusing ability's. I would also venture to suggest that this scope is great on a Bushmaster Varminter, or other varmint AR-15 rifles. The recoil reduction system is fantastic on Varmint AR-15's so you can pop off your shots and still see what or where you hit, without having to re-position the scope.
