The Winchester Model 94 was the most popular hunting rifle for a very long time, there have been more Model 94's sold than almost any other rifle! It is certain fact that the model 94 is the best selling lever action, what I found surprising the other day is how many times the Winchester Model 94 has been used for self defence, or for protection of home and property.
At first it seemed to me that that was an odd gun to use for self defense, but then it came to me that many people only have their hunting rifle, and never thinking that their safety will be encroached upon, when trouble comes people use what they have; and that in many cases is the Winchester Model 94!
